Terminal & Trestle Life Extension
Long Harbour (Salt Spring Island)
April 8 to Mid-Spring 2025
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safe operation of our terminal facilities, necessary work to extend the life of the Long Harbour terminal trestle and berth will begin April 8, 2025. The project is expected to be completed by mid-spring.
Construction activities will take place between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm with no planned night work. There will be no impact to our regular service and all sailings are anticipated to continue as scheduled.
A marine barge will be stationed offshore to support the marine-based construction. The work will involve equipment that may generate moderate sound levels near the terminal. Every effort will be made to minimize noise for local neighbors.
BC Ferries terminal staff will be on hand as needed throughout the project to assist both vehicle and foot passengers, ensuring the smooth operation of the terminal and the safety of our customers.
