Chemainus Ferry Terminal
Notice of Project Work
July - August 2024
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safe operation of our terminal facilities, BC Ferries is carrying out construction work at the Chemainus terminal to maintain safe and reliable operation of the berth. Construction will begin mid-July and is anticipated to be completed by the end of August.
Work will be completed in between sailings from 7:00am to 5:30pm, Monday-Friday, and is not expected to impact sailings. Increased levels of noise are expected during some activities and BC Ferries will work closely with the contractor to minimize noise for our neighbours.
One week of night work is anticipated near the end of July to complete repair work on the timber trestle; night work is required to avoid interference with terminal operations. We will keep neighbours informed of the exact timing and anticipated impacts of the night work beforehand.
There will be a reduction to the terminal parking for the duration of the work to facilitate the storage of construction materials and equipment. Drivers and customers are asked to follow the direction of staff and signage, and are encouraged to arrive at the terminal early for their desired sailing.
