Due to forecasted high winds for the Strait of Georgia and North Vancouver Island, service on multiple routes may be affected on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.

The safety of our passengers and crew is of primary importance to us. We are continuing to monitor this weather system and will share information as it becomes available.

BC Ferries’ Customer Service Centre hours for the holiday:

  • December 24 – 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • December 25 – 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
  • December 31 – 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

Service notice - Sailing Cancellations - Adverse Weather - December 25

To ensure the safety of our customers and crew, the following sailings between Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) and Departure Bay (Nanaimo) must be cancelled for tomorrow, Wednesday, December 25, as a result of Environment Canada’s severe weather forecast for high winds and waves in the Strait of Georgia and North Vancouver Island.

Sailings Cancellations, Wednesday, December 25:
10:40 am departing Departure Bay
10:40 am departing Horseshoe Bay
1:00 pm departing Departure Bay
1:00 pm departing Horseshoe Bay
3:20 pm departing Departure Bay
3:45 pm departing Horseshoe Bay
5:55 pm departing Departure Bay
6:35 pm departing Horseshoe Bay

The previously scheduled 10:10 pm sailing from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay on December 25 has been revised to depart at 10:50 pm, however all remaining sailings remain at risk of cancellation.
