Due to forecasted high winds for the Strait of Georgia and North Vancouver Island, service on multiple routes have been affected on Wednesday, December 25 and Thursday, December 26, 2024.

The safety of our passengers and crew is of primary importance to us. We are continuing to monitor this weather system and will share information as it becomes available.

BC Ferries’ Customer Service Centre hours for the holiday:

  • December 25 – 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
  • December 31 – 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

Service Notices will continue to be posted with regular updates provided as needed. Travellers can find our Service Notices posted here.

If you have a booking and your sailing is cancelled due to weather, we will automatically refund your fees and/or fares. Click here for more information about bookings on cancelled sailings. Customers can make changes to their existing booking through bcferries.com or the app.

BC Ferries introduces mobile point of sale at Langdale


VICTORIA – BC Ferries is rolling out mobile point of sale at Langdale terminal to improve the check in process for our customers and provide operational flexibility during busy travel periods.

There are occasions at the major terminals where booth throughput is unable to meet the demand of arriving traffic causing traffic to backup beyond the pre-ticketing areas. The mobile point of sale will provide terminal staff an additional option to check-in customers, which will speed up the check-in process overall. 

The mobile point of sale will be used when traffic levels are high. Customers are asked to follow directions of staff when the devices are in use. When traffic volumes are low, the mobile point of sale will not be necessary and traffic will be processed through the booths in the usual manner. 
 
BC Ferries currently uses mobile point of sale at Heriot Bay on Quadra Island, Gravelly Bay on Denman Island and Lyall Harbour on Saturna Island. BC Ferries will roll out mobile point of sale at Horseshoe Bay, Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay later this summer.
