BC FERRIES PARTNERS WITH INVICTUS GAMES TO SUPPORT VETERANS, MILITARY FAMILIES, AND VOLUNTEERS

VICTORIA, BC - BC Ferries has partnered with the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 to become a Friend of the Games, providing in-kind advertising and travel support for competitors, their families, and volunteers. Through this partnership, BC Ferries reinforces its commitment to supporting the diverse needs of BC’s coastal communities, honouring the dedication and sacrifices of those who have served their country, including many of BC Ferries’ own employees who have a history of military service.

“We are deeply honoured to support the Invictus Games 2025 and celebrate the strength and dedication of Veterans, their families, and all who serve,” said Darren Johnston, Vice President of Marine Operations at BC Ferries, and a proud Veteran himself. “At BC Ferries, we are committed to connecting people and communities, and this partnership resonates personally for me and for so many of our employees who have served. We are proud to play a role in bringing together these inspiring individuals and their families.”

In addition to providing in-kind travel support, BC Ferries will supply advertising space onboard vessels and at terminals to bring the Invictus message of resilience and unity to passengers. BC Ferries will also be offering exclusive Invictus Games 2025 merchandise for sale in Passages gift stores on select vessels starting December 15th, 2024. Proceeds from Invictus Games 2025 merchandise sales will go towards the Games’ mission to encourage a greater international understanding of and respect for those who serve their country by inspiring recovery and supporting the rehabilitation of wounded, injured and sick (WIS) service personnel and Veterans.

“We are grateful for BC Ferries generosity in providing travel support for our competitors, their families, and our volunteers to and from our Invictus Games host communities, as well as marketing support to raise awareness,” said Scott Moore, CEO of Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. “This partnership will make it easier for British Columbians to be part of this transformative event, whether they are competing, supporting, or volunteering at our Games.”

The seventh Invictus Games will take place in Vancouver and Whistler from February 8th to 16th, 2025 and is presented by ATCO and Boeing. This global event will bring together up to 550 competitors from up to 25 nations to participate in adaptive sports, inspiring recovery and resilience among Veterans, active service members, and their families.
