Spirit of Vancouver Island requires engine maintenance before peak season
Sailing waits possible on Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay route June 6 - 8
VICTORIA – BC Ferries’ Spirit of Vancouver Island will be removed from service from Monday, June 6 through Wednesday, June 8 for maintenance work to the liquefied natural gas systems so it’s ready to carry hundreds of thousands of passengers over the summer months.
The out-of-service dates were chosen because they are the least utilized travel days of the week; however BC Ferries is advising customers planning to travel without bookings on these three days to consider sailing on the Tsawwassen – Duke Point or Horseshoe Bay – Departure Bay routes or consider travelling as a foot passenger.
BC Ferries requires customers to follow the direction of traffic control flaggers. Please have your booking reference number ready for the check-in process and give yourself extra time as the terminals may be busy.
