Temporary Langdale berth closure for maintenance

VICTORIA –BC Ferries announced today that the primary berth at the Langdale terminal, will be temporarily closed from April 25-28 for maintenance on the overhead loading ramp.

During this closure, the Langdale-Horseshoe Bay service will operate out of Berth Two at Langdale terminal, which allows for single-deck vehicle loading and unloading as opposed to double-deck. Therefore, two vessels will operate on approximately hourly sailings between both terminals. Each sailing will offer approximately half the vehicle capacity of current service as they will be main-deck loads only. However, with twice as many sailings each day, overall capacity will remain essentially the same.

Every sailing will have reservable spaces so customers are encouraged to book desired sailing times. Passenger capacity will increase with two vessels providing service on the route.

To accommodate the two-ship operation, the Queen of Oak Bay will be temporarily moved from its Departure Bay – Horseshoe Bay duties and will join the Queen of Surrey to provide main deck loading service for Horseshoe Bay – Langdale customers.

Sailings are about 40 minutes with the two ferry service operating on the following schedule:

The move of the Queen of Oak Bay will be offset using the Queen of Coquitlam. These moves will require temporary changes to the Departure Bay – Horseshoe Bay schedule as well. The first sailing from Horseshoe Bay (6:15 AM) will be cancelled. The final sailing on April 24, 2022 (10:10 PM) will be cancelled to allow for the required ship movement.
