Victoria to Swartz Bay

July 25, 29 and August 7, 2024

Patricia Bay Highway (Hwy 17) between Victoria and Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island will be temporarily closed from Tanner Road to Island View Road due to the Keating Cross Road Overpass Project during the noted times on the following dates:

10:00 pm – 6:00 am


Customers looking to travel to or from Swartz Bay terminal during closure times will be impacted and should plan their travel accordingly. A detour will be in effect via Central Saanich Road. Customers should be prepared for a 15-20 minute delay as a result.

Little River terminal is located in the Comox Valley on the east coast of Vancouver Island. The terminal is a 10 minute drive north of the town of Comox, follow signs on Highway 19 or 19A. Sailings departing from Little River provide service to Powell River (Westview) on the Sunshine Coast.

Check-in times

For travel to Powell River (Westview) with a reservation – Arrive at the terminal 30 to 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. Your booking will not be honoured and travel will be based on your order of arrival at the terminal if you arrive before booking check-in has opened, or after booking check-in has closed.

  • Booking check-in for foot passenger groups and vehicles opens 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure.
  • Booking check-in for foot passenger groups and vehicles closes 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure.

For travel without a reservation or on a non-bookable route – Travel is based on your order of arrival at the terminal. Ticket sales and check-in for foot passengers and vehicles closes 5 minutes prior to the scheduled sailing departure.

Westview terminal is located in downtown Powell River and can be accessed by vehicle towards the end of Courtenay Street. The terminal is a 30 minute drive north of Saltery Bay. Sailings departing from Westview terminal provide service to Little River (Comox) on Vancouver Island and Blubber Bay (Texada Island).

For travel to Comox (Little River) with a reservation – Arrive at the terminal 30 to 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. Your booking will not be honoured and travel will be based on your order of arrival at the terminal if you arrive before booking check-in has opened, or after booking check-in has closed.
