Victoria to Swartz Bay

July 25, 29 and August 7, 2024

Patricia Bay Highway (Hwy 17) between Victoria and Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island will be temporarily closed from Tanner Road to Island View Road due to the Keating Cross Road Overpass Project during the noted times on the following dates:

Customers looking to travel to or from Swartz Bay terminal during closure times will be impacted and should plan their travel accordingly. A detour will be in effect via Central Saanich Road. Customers should be prepared for a 15-20 minute delay as a result.

Whichever path you choose, the views and sights are sure to be worth the effort.

Activity policies

Tour offers pick up and drop off. Pick up and drop off location is limited to the Nanaimo region. 

Guests should bring comfortable shoes to walk around in and two pieces of ID - If you are planning to consume alcohol. Guests must be 19+ to consume alcohol. 

Please consider your fitness and ability when choosing the difficulty of your hike. The following is a guideline on what you should expect when selecting a difficulty:
Easy: A gentle stroll viewing sceneries such as beaches, forests, waterfalls, rivers or lakes on footpaths and well maintained tracks.
Moderate: A hike which may include inclines, hills or elevation changes however, manageable by anyone who is moderately active. Paths may have more technical terrain like rocky or root-covered trails. 
Difficult: Get the blood pumping hiking a mountain on a trail with many inclines, a long steady climb, many steps/stairs, roots, and potential slippery rocks. Be rewarded with incredible views at the top
